3 Day Juice Cleanse

I did a juice cleanse around October of 2012 and it was a great way to transition to a vegan lifestyle. I lost some weight, eliminated my cravings for junk food, gained more energy, became healthier, my digestive system improved, and I started craving more fruits and veggies after that. It was a great experience for me and I highly recommend doing a juice cleanse once every six months.

Some of the main benefits of juicing are:

  • Juicing helps your body absorb the nutrients from the vegetables/fruits.
  • Juicing helps you increase your consumption of fruits and vegetables.
  • Juices are rich in vitamins and minerals.
  • Juices are fun to make and you get to try many different juice recipes so you will never get bored!

My wife recently did a 3 day juice cleanse. She was able to lose 8 pounds, gain more energy, get healthier, improve her digestive system, and eliminate unhealthy cravings. Now she wants to continue to add a daily juice to her nutrition plan.

Watching my wife do the juice cleanse motivated me do add 1 daily juice to my nutrition plan.

There are many different juice cleanses out there you can try, but this is the one my wife did:

Sample Schedule:

  • 8 am – Green Juice
  • 10 am – Pineapple, Apple and Mint Juice
  • 12 pm – Green Juice
  • 3 pm – Spicy Lemonade
  • 5 pm – Apple, Beet, Carrot, Ginger Juice
  • 7 pm – Almond Milk.

Green Juice Recipe

  • 6 stalks of celery
  • 1 cucumber
  • 2 large green apples
  • 3-4 massive leaves of kale
  • 3-4 massive leaves of romaine
  • Healthy handful of spinach
  • Less massive handful of parsley
  • 1 squeezed lemon

Pineapple, Apple and Mint Juice Recipe

  • 1/3 of a pineapple 
  • 2 large green apples
  • A few pinches of mint

Spicy Lemonade Recipe

  • 16 oz of water
  • 3-4 juiced medium Lemons
  • A few dashes of cayenne
  • 1 tablespoon of agave/honey

Apple, Beet, Carrot, Ginger Juice Recipe

  • 2 large green apples
  • 2 beets
  • 3 large carrots
  • 1.5 tablespoons of ginger
  • 1 squeezed lemon

Unsweetened Soy Free Almond Milk

You can get this one from Whole Foods

Rules:

  • Drink as much water as you want.
  • Do not drink any coffee or alcohol, dink only green tea.
  • Do not do any intense workouts during this time.

I would recommend you do this cleanse Friday through Sunday because that makes it easier to follow.
