Many times I hear people say things like:
“I want to get in shape, but I just don’t have the motivation to do it”
“I need someone to motivate me so I can get in shape”
“I wish I had the same motivation as you do”
Well I got news for you…motivation is not something that anyone can give you or force upon you. Motivation will not strike you like lighting and all of the sudden you will become motivated. The whole idea of motivation is a myth. Forget about motivation and just do it!
Motivation is something that comes after you take action. The moment you start working out and eating healthy, the better you will feel. The better you feel, the more you will want to continue to do it. The more you continue to do it, the easier it will become. The easier it becomes, the more motivated you will get.
Getting results play a huge role in staying motivated. Nobody really gets motivated to workout day after day. But the results that come from workout out day after day is what keeps people motivated. Think about a true deep emotional reason why you want to get in shape. Once you have that reason, use that as your daily fuel to push you every single day. Create momentum in your fitness so you can keep on going. Remember that it’s a lot harder to start, than it is to keep on going. Once you have created some momentum, things will become easier and you will be able to stay motivated.
Motivation always starts with you taking action. You are 100% in control of what you eat today. You are 100% in control of your exercise today. Never put the blame on anyone for your own eating, and workout habits. Take action and take control of your life today!
